It probably doesn't help that I'm not usually a fan of Robin Williams, though he was perfect in Altman's Popeye and pretty good in the otherwise undistinguished Insomnia remake. It's been a while since I've seen GWH, but I can't say I'm in any rush to watch Ed Howardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18014222247676090467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3296479421292377391.post-76983387764969873912008-06-27T15:24:00.000-04:002008-06-27T15:24:00.000-04:00Great review. You have indeed captured the nuances of the film.

Even though critics who are more into Van Sant's indie efforts, not all of his mainstream ventures are bad. In fact, despite what critics say (that it is too Hollywood), i liked Good Will Hunting. If possible do post a review of the movie.Shubhajithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02040495040897333606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3296479421292377391.post-16238993844242945052008-06-23T22:59:00.000-04:002008-06-23T22:59:00.000-04:00Excellent work, Ed. I think it's overall rather successful, and above all, viscerally enjoyable. Kidman, Phoenix, Folland and (especially) Douglas are incredible, and I'm glad you placed this against his other works... because his Hollywood pictures are something I've never been able toreassurancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17129227726045849803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3296479421292377391.post-88402352766414814982008-06-18T15:52:00.000-04:002008-06-18T15:52:00.000-04:00An excelletn review of an unsung Van Sant.Incident...An excelletn review of an unsung Van Sant.

Incidentally Gus met Buck Henry via their mutual love of golf.DavidEhrensteinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11016905507543736049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3296479421292377391.post-14863141567031558362008-06-18T11:05:00.000-04:002008-06-18T11:05:00.000-04:00Ed - This was a wonderful piece. I think the incredible array of techniques he applied to To Die For is a film class in itself. He really did take established styles and turn them sideways, to amusing and startling effect. I particularly liked the quick-cut sex scenes Marilynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15730000155687661753noreply@blogger.com
