I really wanted to like this, considering how I feel about the rest of Verhoeven's work, but there's no denying that it's a badly missed opportunity, an interesting idea that the film never does enough with. The ending is particularly awful, too. I remember watching this in the ...Great stuff, Ed. I remember watching this in the theater and being annoyed that they turned the story into a slasher film. I thought with Verhoeven at the helm the idea of an invisible man story was definitely intriguing...but all the script wanted to do was give the audience your basic slasher premises.
