He just completed two Wellmans including BEGGARS OF LIFE in the Wellman Festival, and negotiated all the silents in the MGM series that concluded a month ago. I just recently took I yet another viewing of this film at the Keaton Festival with piano accompaniment, and I was so impressed that I'd actually put it now on the same level as THE GENERAL and SHERLOCK JR., with two others practically with them. (double-billed with Chaplin's THE KID, which was curiously missing its final reel). The logic of following the "rules" of southern etiquette is priceless.
